OUGD405 | Studio brief 2 - Children's Research

Animals seem like an easier theme to create for frames aimed at children. I found this great children's activity where you create a dinosaur out of simple shapes. I could use the basis of this idea to see what animals I can create using shapes I have cut out.

I then found the artist Jag Nagra, who created a series of animals using only basic lines and shapes. I love the simplicity of the illustrations and I like the effect of putting these into a pattern. These image appear to be vectors which would be more easily created in illustrator. However, my brief requires me to finish my backing paper in photoshop. To resolve this, I have the idea to create vectors in illustrator, then in photoshop I will overlay textures and photographs over the shapes to make these more interesting.

I then found this simple childlike triangle pattern. I really like the innocent feel of the tiny triangles and I feel that this simplicity would appeal to children and would also appeal to parents looking to buy a frame for their child. It would also be easy to add text to this sort of pattern with the information needed.
